Three Bible Verses That Seem To Predict Nuclear War

These days, it seems like a nuclear war may be just around the corner. All it will take is one country saying "I've had enough" and pushing that fatal button -- and the consequences will affect every man, woman, and child on the face of the planet. While the possibility of nuclear way seems scary, it is not completely unexpected. If you are of the religious sort, you may be surprised to learn that the Bible does seem to predict a nuclear war. Here are a few verses that indicate the world may come to an end in this manner:

Matthew 24:22

This verse describes how the "days will be shortened" and specifies that nobody will be saved from whatever terror is referenced. If you look up the verse in its context, it truly seems like it could be talking about nuclear war, even though the exact words are never used. Matthew is one of the gospel books, and it does not address the end of times often -- which means these words should be taken seriously.

Isaiah 24:19-20

These two verses speak about the earth being broken down and dissolved. Some take this to be speaking about the destruction caused by climate change, but the word "dissolved" surely sounds more like the effects of a nuclear bomb than those of carbon dioxide accumulation. Isaiah was a prophet and this verse should be assumed to be a prophesy. Since the earth has not yet been dissolved, one can only assume this is still in the future.

Revelations 8:10-11

This verse is perhaps the most telling of them all, as it states that the world will have a star fall on it from heaven, and that star will burn like a lamp. If you have seen images of the bombs dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, then you'll realize just how accurate this description of a nuclear bomb is. The verses go on to talk about the destruction of rivers, which is something that happens when a nuclear bomb is dropped: the rivers become radioactive, and anyone who drinks from them becomes seriously ill and soon passes away from nuclear sickness.

Of course, all of these verses are up for interpretation, and there are many authors who have analyzed them more deeply. Look for books on nuclear war in Bible prophesy if you would like to learn more. The truth is pretty eye-opening. Contact a company like biblically.com for more information and assistance.
